restructuring, the concept has assumed several disparate meanings,” the statement

“In the light of this, at the fifth regular joint APC national working committee
(NWC) /APC governors meeting on 19th July, 2017 a committee was set up to articulate
the Party’s notion on restructuring.”

It said the committee would be chaired by Nasir el-rufai, governor of Kaduna state.
Other members of the committee include Rauf Aregbesola, governor of Osun; Abdullahi
Umar Ganduje, governor of Kano; Simon Lalong, governor of Plateau, Ibikunle Amosun,
governor of Ogun and Oserheimen Osunbod, former governor of Edo.

Others are Osita Izunaso, national organising secretary; Bolaji Abdullahi, Hajiya
Fatima Balla as well as Olubunmi Adetunmbi (secretary).

Recently, there have been increased calls for Nigeria to be restructured.

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo recently said the federal government will soon address
the call for restructuring.

“We are looking at all contributions made by Nigerians across the country. Very
soon we will come out with policies to address the
call for restructuring of the country,” Osinbajo had said.

“It is in our interest as a nation to continue to dialogue for the unity and peace
of the country. Equity, fairness and justice can only be achieved under a peaceful
atmosphere. We must not do those things that will turn us against each other.”
