About Sadiq Suleiman Umar

Senator Sadiq Suleiman Umar (popularly known as

3SU) is a prominent Nigerian politician and public health expert currently serving in the 10th National Assembly. He represents the Kwara North Senatorial District under the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Born on June 8, 1970, in Kaiama, Kwara State, Umar is an alumnus of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria.

Before his political career, he spent two decades in health development, working on projects for organizations such as DFID and USAID, and as Technical Director for West Africa at Axios International. He is a fellow of various bodies, including the Nigerian Academy of Pharmacy.

He was first elected to the Senate in 2019. His legislative focus areas include health, education, infrastructure, water, and youth development.

Senator Umar is married to Hajia Maryam Sadiq Umar and they have three children. He is also the founder of the 3SU Mentorship and Fellowship Programme.
