Adamawa State | House of representatives
Zango Baba Abubakar is a Nigerian politician and first-term member of the 10th House of Representatives, representing the Yola North/Yola South/Girei Federal Constituency of Adamawa State. He is 58 years old and holds a West African Examination Council (WAEC) qualification, advocating for a blend of Islamic and Western education.
He began his political career as a councilor for Yelwa Ward in Jimeta, Yola North Local Government Area (1999–2002). In October 2023, he assumed his seat in the House of Representatives under the All Progressives Congress (APC) following a Court of Appeal ruling that affirmed him as the rightful winner.
In the National Assembly, he serves as Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria Control. He is regarded in his constituency as an approachable and visionary leader committed to education and community welfare.
