About Uba Sani

Senator Uba Sani, CON, is the Governor of Kaduna State, sworn in on May 29, 2023, under the All Progressives Congress (APC). Born on December 31, 1970, in Zaria, he is a Mechanical Engineer with a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration (University of Abuja) and an M.Sc. in Finance (University of Calabar). He was also a pro-democracy activist during Nigeria’s military era.

Sani served as Special Assistant to President Obasanjo, Special Adviser to Governor Nasir El-Rufai, and represented Kaduna Central in the Senate (2019–2023), where he chaired the Committee on Banking, Insurance, and Other Financial Institutions. He is the Coordinating Governor of the APC in the North West.

His administration emphasizes Rural Transformation and Inclusive Development, with the ₦985.9 billion 2026 “Budget of Renewal, Resilience and Far-Reaching Vision” allocating 71% to capital projects, 25% to education, and ₦100 million per ward for community initiatives. Key projects include major roads, the Kaduna Peace Model, and a $200 million Integrated Poultry Project. He holds several traditional titles and is married with children.
