Benue State | House of representatives
Hon. Sekav Dzua Iyortyom (born November 5, 1964) is a Nigerian politician serving in the 10th House of Representatives, representing the Buruku Federal Constituency of Benue State under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He holds a Master of Science (MSc) degree and previously served as Benue State Commissioner for Arts, Culture, and Tourism. Elected in 2023, he is a first-term federal lawmaker and is often addressed as Rt. Hon. Sekav Dzua Iyortyom.
In the House of Representatives, his focus areas include infrastructure, healthcare, and education. Notable initiatives include sponsoring bills to establish the Federal College of Health Sciences, Technology and Tropical Medicine in Abwa, and the Federal College of Agriculture in Mbatie. He has led rural development projects such as installing solar street lights in Buruku and constructing access roads to key institutions. He has also moved motions for constitutional review, advocated for the restoration of suppressed state constituencies, distributed fertilizer to farmers, and facilitated federal job placements for his constituents.
