About OGEWU DAVID

Hon. David Agada Ogewu (born July 29, 1986) is a Nigerian politician representing the Oju/Obi Federal Constituency of Benue State in the 10th National Assembly and a leading figure among the Igede people.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and an MSc in Public Administration from the University of Lagos.

Ogewu was first elected in 2019 under APGA, but his victory was overturned by the Court of Appeal. He returned in 2023 on the platform of the APC, defeating the incumbent to secure his seat. He currently serves as Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Army.

In the legislature, he has sponsored bills for the establishment of the Federal University of Biomedical Sciences, Oju, and the Federal Medical Centre, Obarike-Ito. He has also supported major infrastructure projects, including road construction, power installations, and security initiatives such as advocating for a military Forward Operation Base.

Known as Evangelist David Ogewu, he is active in community development through scholarships, empowerment programs, and sports sponsorship, including the Ogewu Unity Cup, which promotes unity and youth development in his constituency.
