Borno State | House of representatives
Hon. Usman Zannah, born on September 15, 1964, in Borno State, is a Nigerian politician and member of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He represents the Kaga/Gubio/Magumeri Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives. He holds an MSc degree.
Zannah’s political career includes serving as Chairman of Magumeri Local Government (1998–2000), holding state cabinet positions under Governor Kashim Shettima—including Commissioner for Works and Commissioner for Local Government & Emirate Affairs—and acting as Special Adviser on Agriculture (2008–2010).
He was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2019 and re-elected in 2023. He currently chairs the House Committee on the North East Development Commission (NEDC) and has previously served as vice-chair of the Committee on Basic Education. His legislative focus includes security, humanitarian support, rural development, and rebuilding insurgency-affected communities, with initiatives such as solar-powered street lighting and agricultural support for IDPs.
