About YUSUF SAIDU MIGA

Yusuf Saidu Miga is a veteran Nigerian politician and experienced legislator currently serving in the 10th National Assembly. Born on September 1, 1957 (with some sources citing January 1, 1958), he hails from Jigawa State and represents the Jahun/Miga Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

He began his education at Miga Primary School and later obtained a Teacher’s Grade II Certificate and a Certificate “A” in teacher training. Before venturing into politics, he worked as a school teacher.

Miga entered public service in 1997 when he was elected to the Jigawa State House of Assembly. He later served as Adviser to the Governor of Jigawa State from 2000 to 2001 and as Commissioner of Special Duties between 2002 and 2003.

At the national level, he has served multiple terms in the House of Representatives: from 2003 to 2007, from 2015 to 2019, and from 2023 to the present. He is currently a member of the 10th Assembly under the All Progressives Congress (APC) and serves as Chairman of the House Committee on Reformation of Government Institutions.

With over two decades of experience in governance and legislation, Yusuf Saidu Miga is regarded as one of Nigeria’s most seasoned lawmakers, known for his long-standing commitment to public service and institutional reform.
