Katsina State | House of representatives
Murtala Usman Banye, popularly known as Hon. Arc. Usmaniyya Alheri, is a Nigerian architect and politician representing the Batagarawa/Charanchi/Rimi Federal Constituency of Katsina State in the 10th National Assembly under the APC. Born on July 12, 1982, in Kaduna, he is an indigene of Katsina State.
He holds a B.Tech in Architecture from the Federal University of Technology, Minna, and an M.Sc. in Architecture from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He is a registered architect and also earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from the National Teachers Institute, Kaduna. Before politics, he worked with architectural firms, led major construction projects, ran Qualitrend GS Nig. Limited, and served briefly as a primary school teacher.
Elected in 2023, he serves as Vice Chairman of the House Committee on Works and has participated in legislative oversight activities, including investigations into TETFund.
Through the Usmaniyya Foundation, he supports orphans, students, and persons with disabilities, and promotes youth and women empowerment through education, skills training, and digital programs in his constituency.
