Rt. Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase is a Nigerian politician, civil engineer, and veteran lawmaker born on June 1, 1964, in Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State.
He holds National and Higher National Diplomas in Civil Engineering and an Executive Certificate in Governance from Harvard Kennedy School. Before entering politics, he worked in public service and educational administration.
He has represented Wase Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives since 2007, serving five consecutive terms, and was Deputy Speaker from 2019 to 2023. In the 10th National Assembly, he serves as Chairman of the House Committee on Federal Character.
Between 2025 and 2026, he was appointed Plateau State Amirul Hajj and played a key role in party activities, including organizing the reception of Governor Caleb Mutfwang into the APC. He was awarded the Commander of the Order of the Niger in 2022 and holds traditional titles in Wase. He is married with children and remains an influential figure in national and state politics.
