Delta State | Governor
Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Orohwedor Oborevwori, CON, is the Governor of Delta State, sworn in on May 29, 2023. Originally elected under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), he defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in April 2025. Born on June 19, 1963, in Osubi, Delta State, he holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Political Science and has completed executive programs at the London School of Economics and Alliance Manchester Business School.
He began his political career in local government, later serving as Special Assistant on Youth Development and Security, and was Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly from 2017 to 2023.
Governor Oborevwori’s administration follows the “M.O.R.E Agenda”—Meaningful Development, Opportunities for All, Realistic Reforms, and Enhanced Peace and Security. The ₦1.729 trillion 2026 “Budget of Accelerating the MORE Agenda” dedicates 70% to capital projects, prioritizing road infrastructure, education, and healthcare. He is married to Evangelist Tobore Oborevwori, has children, and is an ordained Elder of the Living Faith Church (Winners’ Chapel).
