Jigawa State | House of representatives
Hon. (Dr.) Abubakar Hassan Fulata (born March 3, 1959) is a veteran Nigerian politician serving his third term in the House of Representatives. He represents Birniwa/Guri/Kirikasamma Federal Constituency in Jigawa State under the APC and chairs the House Committee on University Education in the 10th Assembly.
A prolific legislator, he has sponsored over 15 bills, including amendments to the Electoral Act and the Federal Medical Centres Act, and presented reports for new universities in Kogi and Kano. Previously, he chaired the Committee on Rules and Business in the 9th Assembly.
Fulata has facilitated the establishment of federal colleges of education and agriculture, secured federal employment for constituents, and overseen infrastructure projects such as a 25km road and bridge, earth dams, and solar-powered rural lighting.
Educated with a B.Sc. and Teacher’s Grade II Certificate, he has a strong background in education and public service and has represented Nigeria at international platforms, including the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).
