Ikra Aliyu Bilbis is a Nigerian politician serving as Senator for Zamfara Central in the 10th National Assembly. He is about 65 years old and holds an Advanced Diploma in Public Administration. He was elected in 2023 under the Peoples Democratic Party but defected to the All Progressives Congress in March 2026.
He previously served as Minister of State for Information and Communication during the Yar’Adua/Jonathan administration and also chaired the National Broadcasting Commission. In the Senate, he chairs the Committee on Communications and is a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee.
He won his Senate seat in 2023 after defeating Kabir Marafa in a supplementary election. Despite facing legal issues in 2022 related to alleged campaign property destruction, he was released on bail. His legislative focus includes promoting development projects such as establishing a federal university in his constituency.
