Kebbi State | Senator
Muhammad Adamu Aliero is a Nigerian politician and administrator serving as Senator for Kebbi Central in the 10th National Assembly. Born on January 1, 1957, in Aliero, Kebbi State, he earned a B.Sc. in Political Science from Ahmadu Bello University in 1980. He served 16 years in the Nigeria Customs Service, retiring as Assistant Comptroller in 1997.
Aliero was Governor of Kebbi State from 1999 to 2007 under the All People’s Party, overseeing major infrastructure projects, and served as Minister of the FCT from 2008 to 2010 under President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua. He was first elected to the Senate in 2007, returned in 2015, and continues to serve. Although he won his 2023 seat under the Peoples Democratic Party, he defected back to the All Progressives Congress in 2025 and supports the APC’s "Renewed Hope" agenda.
