About Kwamoti Bitrus Laori

Kwamoti Bitrus Laori is a Nigerian legal practitioner and politician serving as a Member of the House of Representatives for the Demsa/Numan/Lamurde Federal Constituency in Adamawa State. Born on October 17, 1966, in Numan, he holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) and is a qualified lawyer.

Laori began his political career at the state level, serving two terms (2007–2015) in the Adamawa State House of Assembly, where he held leadership positions including Chief Whip, Deputy Speaker, and Speaker. At the federal level, he was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2015 under the Social Democratic Party, and was re-elected in 2019 and 2023 under the Peoples Democratic Party. He has chaired the House Committees on FCT Judiciary and Public Petitions.

In March 2026, Laori defected to the All Progressives Congress, aligning with Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and the federal government's "Renewed Hope" agenda. He was elected National President of the Planned Parenthood Federation of Nigeria in December 2024. Known as the "Advocate of the Poor and Vulnerable," he focuses on conflict resolution, pro bono legal services, and community support. He is a Christian, married to Dr. Celine K. Laori, and holds multiple traditional titles, including Sunga-Takale-Bata, Murum-Bondo-Mbula, and Kormo-Bachama.
