About Kobis Thimnu

Kobis Ari Thimnu is a Nigerian politician serving as the Federal Representative for the Guyuk/Shelleng Federal Constituency in Adamawa State in the 10th National Assembly. Born on March 17, 1961, he holds a General Certificate of Education (G.C.E.).

Thimnu began his public service at the state level, serving as Secretary to the State Government and as a Commissioner under Governor Murtala Nyako. He was elected to the House of Representatives in 2023 under the Peoples Democratic Party, but reportedly resigned in January 2026 to align with the All Progressives Congress. He holds the traditional title of Wazirin Lunguda and serves as Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Border Communities.

His legislative work focuses on labor law reforms, border security, and constituency development. He has initiated empowerment programs in his constituency, including distributing tools and machinery to support local livelihoods.
