Mohammed Ali Ndume is a veteran Nigerian lawmaker representing Borno South in the 10th National Assembly. Born on November 20, 1959, in Gwoza, Borno State, he studied Marketing at Kaduna Polytechnic and later earned degrees in Education from the University of Toledo in the United States.
Before politics, he worked as a lecturer and managed a private company. He began his political career in the House of Representatives in 2003, serving as Minority Leader, and became a Senator in 2011. He has held major leadership positions, including Senate Majority Leader and Chief Whip, though he was removed in 2024 after criticizing the executive.
Known for his independent views, Ndume remains active in the Senate as Chairman of the Tourism Committee. He has been affiliated with several political parties and is recognized for his grassroots development efforts in Borno State.
