Neda Bernards Imasuen (born June 29, 1957) is a Nigerian lawyer and politician representing Edo South Senatorial District in the 10th National Assembly. He was born in Benin City, Edo State, and holds an LL.B from the University of Maiduguri, was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1985, and earned a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Long Island University, New York.
Imasuen practiced law in New York and worked as a consultant before returning to Nigeria in 2010, where he held several public-sector and advisory roles, including EU SRIP State Coordinator in Jigawa State, policy consultant to the Nigerian Governors’ Forum, and legislative consultant on a World Bank project that contributed to Nigeria’s Treasury Single Account (TSA) policy.
Elected to the Senate in 2023 under the Labour Party, he defected to the APC in June 2025 and currently serves as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions. His career has attracted controversy, including reports of disbarment in New York in 2010 and his role in high-profile legislative disciplinary actions in 2025.
