Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, popularly known as MOB, is a Nigerian lawyer, human rights activist, and politician who serves as the Majority Leader of the 10th Senate, representing Ekiti Central. Born on July 29, 1963, in Iyin Ekiti, Ekiti State, he studied Religious Studies at Obafemi Awolowo University and Law at the University of Benin, and later earned an LL.M and admission to the New York Bar.
He built a strong legal career as a human rights advocate, notably defending Chief M.K.O. Abiola, and founded a constitutional and intellectual property law firm. In politics, he held key roles in Lagos State, served in the House of Representatives, and became Senator in 2019, chairing the Judiciary Committee.
Re-elected in 2023, Bamidele emerged as Senate Majority Leader and remains influential in shaping legislation and security policies. He has received national honors and academic recognition for his service.
