The All Progressive Congress (APC) has constituted a central coordination committee for its 2026 national convention, with Hope Uzodimma, governor of Imo, as chairman.

In a statement issued from the party’s national secretariat in Abuja and signed by Surajudeen Basiru, national secretary of the APC, and Sulaiman Argungu, national organising secretary, the national working committee said the panel would oversee preparations for the 2026 convention.

Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, Kwara governor, was named vice chairman of the committee; while Mai Mala Buni, Yobe governor, will serve as secretary.

The party said the committee also includes serving and former governors, senators, members of the national assembly, and other party leaders drawn from across the country.

Among the members listed are Senate President Godswill Akpabio; Tajudeen Abbas, speaker of the house of representatives; Adams Oshiomhole, former national chairman of the APC; and Abdullahi Ganduje, former Kano governor.

Other members include Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Lagos governor; Uba Sani, Kaduna governor; Dikko Radda, Katsina governor; Peter Mbah, Enugu governor; and Douye Diri, Bayelsa governor.

The APC said “details of the inauguration of the central coordination committee for the 2026 national convention will be announced in due course”.

The party also released an adjusted timetable for ward, local government, state, and zonal congresses.

According to the schedule, e-registration of members will run from January 31 to February 8, while ward congresses will be held on February 18.

Local government congresses are slated for February 21, with appeals to be concluded by February 23.

State congresses will take place on March 3, followed by zonal congresses across the six geopolitical zones on March 25. The APC fixed its national convention for March 27 to March 28.

The party also announced fees for the purchase of expression of interest and nomination forms for aspirants seeking party offices at ward, local government, state, zonal, and national levels.

According to the schedule, nomination form for the APC national chairman position costs N10 million, while the forms for the deputy national chairman and national secretary offices are priced at N7.5 million each.

The party said female aspirants, youths, and persons living with disabilities will pay for the expression of interest form and “50 percent of the prescribed nomination fees for each position”.

The APC said Ekiti, Osun, Rivers states, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) are excluded from ward, local government, and state congresses but will participate in the election of three delegates to the national convention.
